LOCAL GREENTAGS - WORCESTER ENERGY COMMITTEE CARBON OFFSET FUND - Inspired by the desire to come up with a carbon offset fund where donors can verify how the money is being used and help promote local carbon-saving programs, the Worcester Energy Committee is developing the "Offsets U Can See" program. Worcester residents will be able to help offset the carbon released from their non-renewable energy use by contributing to a local fund, which will be administered by the Select Board, Conservation Commission and Energy Committee for the purpose of promoting energy efficiency and renewables programs in the community. This is a new and very exciting energy committee project! See enclosed draft implementation plan that was scheduled to be modified at the Feb. 11 energy committee meeting, with the intent to present it at town meeting.
